Assessment and Reporting
Assessment
Teachers provide a range of assessment opportunities throughout the year to gather and evaluate evidence of a student’s learning, in that particular point in time. Teachers vary the type of assessment activity and the way evidence of learning is being collected based on the outcomes being assessed, evidence to be gathered, teaching and learning activity, context and students’ learning needs.
There are three areas of assessment.
-
Assessment for learning
-
Assessment of learning
-
Assessment as learning
Reporting
Student reports are designed to demonstrate the level of skill each child is achieving within the NSW Curriculum Stages across all Key Learning Areas. School reports are issued in terms 2 and 4.
Parent / Student/ Teacher interviews are also held in these terms, approximately 1 week after receiving the school reports. An appointment sheet is sent home requesting parents to select an appointment time.
